Other Customized Springs

NorenSpring provides customized spring solutions for applications that require non-standard designs, special dimensions, or unique performance requirements. Whether you need a modified compression spring, extension spring, torsion spring, wire form, or another spring configuration, we can manufacture products according to your specific requirements.
Customized springs can be developed based on drawings, samples, technical specifications, or application needs. Options may include different materials, wire diameters, dimensions, load requirements, spring rates, end configurations, surface treatments, and operating conditions.
Our team supports the process from design review and prototype development to tooling, production, inspection, and packaging. Each order is manufactured according to the approved requirements to help ensure dimensional accuracy, stable performance, and reliable use in practical applications.
Our customized springs are suitable for machinery, automotive components, agricultural equipment, electrical devices, molds, dies, and other industrial assemblies. Please provide your drawing, sample, dimensions, working conditions, required quantity, and any special requirements for a suitable solution and quotation.

Special springs we can make

Many custom orders start as a part that no catalog lists. Common examples are:

  • Variable pitch and shaped coils: barrel, hourglass and conical forms can be made to drawing for progressive force or low solid height.
  • Double torsion and tine springs: for example the reel tine and baler tine springs we make in 50CrVA for harvesters and balers.
  • Clips, circlips and retaining springs: formed from 65Mn, SK5 or carbon steel wire from 0.5 mm.
  • Heavy and hot-coiled springs: bar up to 80 mm diameter (our full range starts at 0.1 mm wire).
  • Special ends: extended hooks, offset legs and ground or tapered ends to suit the mating part.

Materials and finishes

Wire grades in regular use include 65Mn, 50CrVA, 60Si2Mn, SWOSC-V, SWC, SWP-B and stainless steel 304. Finishes include black oxide, phosphate, zinc and nickel plating, powder coating, painting, passivation and polishing. Material grade is confirmed with a spectrometer, and zinc, nickel and powder-coated finishes for outdoor parts can be salt-spray tested.

Send a drawing, a sample or even a photo with key sizes. If the part is a variation of a standard type, our compression, extension, torsion and wire form pages show what we need for each.

COMMON QUESTIONS

Answers Before You Ask

Clear answers to common purchasing questions.

Still have questions?
Can you manufacture from my drawing without a standard part number?

Yes. Most of our projects start from a customer drawing or application sketch. We review the geometry, material and performance needs, then confirm manufacturability before quoting.

What is your minimum order quantity?

We support both small-batch prototypes and high-volume production. There is no fixed MOQ — quantities are evaluated based on the spring type, tooling and material requirements.

How do you handle springs for high-temperature or corrosive environments?

We select materials (such as Inconel, stainless steel or special alloys) and surface treatments matched to the operating environment. Our engineers can recommend options based on temperature range, media exposure and cycle life.

What documentation can you provide with production orders?

We supply inspection reports, material certificates, dimensional records and traceability documentation as agreed during project setup. PPAP and FAIR packages are available for automotive and aerospace programs.

What is the expected lead time?

Lead time depends on the spring type, material, tooling, quantity and approval requirements. We confirm the production and sample schedule during quotation.

How are payment and delivery terms confirmed?

Commercial terms, delivery address and documentation requirements are confirmed with the quotation before production starts.

What support is available after delivery?

After-delivery questions can be routed through the project contact for drawing questions, quality documents, repeat orders and application feedback.

Can you provide samples before mass production?

Yes. Prototype and pre-production samples can be arranged for dimensional, load and application approval before the full production order proceeds.
