From April 13 to 17, 2026, NorenSpring (Xuzhou Apex Spring Manufacturing Co., Ltd.) took part in wire Düsseldorf 2026 in Düsseldorf, Germany. Over five days we met manufacturers, distributors, engineers and purchasing professionals looking for springs for demanding industrial applications. The questions they brought were about material selection, forming accuracy, load consistency, fatigue resistance and surface treatment.
Key takeaways
- wire Düsseldorf 2026 ran April 13–17, 2026 at the Düsseldorf exhibition centre alongside Tube 2026. Messe Düsseldorf reports 2,600 exhibitors from 65 countries across both shows.
- Springs had a dedicated focus at the show: Hall 16 covered fastening technology and technical springs.
- Our discussions covered compression, tension and torsion springs and custom wire forms for automotive components, machinery and electrical systems.
- Visitors asked for customised designs, stable quality, flexible prototyping and efficient delivery.
About wire Düsseldorf 2026
wire is Messe Düsseldorf’s trade fair for the wire and cable industry. Its halls cover wire and cable production, wire products, fastening technology and spring manufacturing (Messe Düsseldorf preview release). In 2026 it ran alongside Tube, the tube and pipe fair. Messe Düsseldorf’s closing report counts 2,600 exhibitors from 65 countries on 119,000 m² across 16 halls for the two shows together, with visitors from 130 countries (Messe Düsseldorf, April 17, 2026). The same release says the next edition runs April 3–7, 2028.
In 2026, Hall 16 was dedicated to fastening technology and springs, including technical springs as end products (Messe Düsseldorf), so the show is a natural meeting point for spring buyers and makers.
Five requirements we discussed
| Requirement | What to put on the drawing or enquiry |
|---|---|
| Material selection | Operating stress, temperature, corrosion environment, preferred grade |
| Forming accuracy | Critical dimensions and their tolerances: diameters, pitch, leg angles, bend positions |
| Load consistency | Load at a working length with tolerance, and how it will be checked |
| Fatigue resistance | Expected duty and number of cycles, stress at maximum deflection |
| Surface treatment | Finish type, colour, appearance and corrosion needs |
Material selection
The material sets the stress a spring can carry, its corrosion resistance and its temperature limit. Carbon and oil-tempered spring wire suit most machinery. Stainless steel handles moisture. Silicon-chrome and other alloy spring steels take higher stress, and beryllium copper, phosphor bronze or nickel alloys cover conductivity and high-temperature needs.

Forming accuracy
For a compression spring, forming accuracy means diameter, pitch and free length. For a torsion spring or wire form, it means leg angles, bend radii and the position of every feature. CNC coiling and forming machines control these dimensions, but the drawing still has to say which ones matter to the assembly.

Load consistency
A spring set in a clutch, a valve or a multi-spring fixture only works if each spring gives the same force. Buyers should state the load at a working length with its tolerance, and agree how it will be checked, on every part or by sampling.
Fatigue resistance
High-cycle springs usually fail from fatigue, not from a single overload. Material grade, stress level at maximum deflection, surface condition and shot peening all influence fatigue life, so the expected duty belongs on the enquiry.
Surface treatment and long-term reliability
Finishes protect against corrosion and can identify parts by colour. The right choice depends on environment and appearance. Common options include zinc plating, black oxide, phosphating, powder coating and Dacromet-type zinc flake coating.

What visitors want from a spring supplier
The conversations in Düsseldorf pointed to four expectations: customised designs, stable quality, flexible prototyping and efficient delivery. We work from customer drawings, sketches or samples, supply prototypes before production, agree inspection records at project setup, and send engineering feedback or a quote within 24 hours. See our capabilities for the full process, or browse compression, extension and torsion springs.
